Do not tear the GC, instead if you ever receive it and decide going back to India, frame it. One may never in his or her lifetime wait for an entity so much desperately as we all have for the GC.
WillWin, I do not agree that India is not moving forward. Infact people in India are raking money. We should not blame politicians or anyone for the state we are in. No one forced us to leave India. Defending our decision to leave India and come here by calling us "smart" is demeaning to our friends back home. Does it mean that they were not "smart" and hence stayed back? If at all, I would say they were the smartest and are reaping the benefits today.

Yes, we are not a third world country. Thats why we still see people like Harshad Mehta and Abdul karim Telgi. Both stock market and stamp paper, backbone of indian economy could be easily exploited by two individuals.
We are still manipulating the stock market. From 3000 to 21,000. Every sadhus, saint, soothsayers, magician, poojari's, astrologers predicting sensex to touch 35,000 by this year end. Even one guy predicted, 50,000 points in 2010.
I am just telling the fact. Look at TOI and other online newpapers economic section. Read the past year news.
Side note: stable oil(price) is the backbone of world economy. We know who manipulates this oil market and who gains out of it? Is it not a few corporations? But tell me honestly how many countries are affected by this inflated oil price.
One wallstreet analyst said. If you have Iran and Isreal in one statement, that is more than enough to shoot up the oil price. Why do we see calm and storm in the market every now and then?
wow!! harshad mehta? You think the first world is all utopian and there are no scandals, no exploitation?
While you are at it, could you please elaborate on your "oil price" theory. That sure sounds juicy.... :D

Hi hur11
Please let me know which category you have applied EB2/ EB3. Below is my qualification
Degree : B.Com ( 3 years)
PG : M.C.A (IGNOU - 3 Years)
Experience - 8 Years in India and 3 years in USA with different employer.
Thanks in Advance

You should not have gotton H1B visa in the first place, as H1b visas are for professionals and there are many professionals stuggle to get an h1b visas even after engineering degrees. In your case, IGNOU is a shame. Its worse than University of Pheonix. If you get a greencard in EB2, it will be a biggest mockery of the USCIS and department of labor.

As per my research, this restiriction is there for almost every one (Atleast the one i checked). BUt added advantage with ICICI ot tata AIG, of bajaj allianze is that medical emergency even if it is out of pre-existing conditions are covered. where as the insurance companies in the US do not cover them.
I used ICICI for my parents. My dad had to use the insurance unfortunately. Due to his age (60 yrs) they paid only part of the expense, but i did not have to pay from my pocket except the prescription medicins.
In another case, one of my friend had purchased insurance for his mother here in US, she was diabetic, and unfortunately her kidneys failed when she was in US. Insurance company did not pay anything, as it was due to pre-existing condition.
There are advantages and disadvantages with both. You need to choose based on your condition.
Hope this helps.
Please remember that ICICI gives LIMITED coverage for anyone above the age of 56. It is mentioned in the "fine print". They have a restriction of say $1200 per day of hospitalization (not sure of the exact amount- but somewhere in that region).
The same is true for TATA Travelguard
It sounds like Comprehensive Insurance from a US company might provide the best "insurance"

Latest on this on Greg Siskind's blog...
"Some of you have been concerned about my post regarding the rejection of some applications received on July 2nd. I've been checking and it seems to be true that some cases were sent back that day. Apparently, the number of cases sent back is small, however, so that is good news. And you should have received the case back by now if you're in that group"

I took from:
Visitor Health Insurance, Pre-existing condition coverage, AIU (http://www..org/)
They cover pre existing conditions and one consultation for pre existing condition.
Routine expenses are never covered in any plan. What may be covered is unexpected emergency due to pre-existing conditions. That is, an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Those are two different things.
Anyway, 's is a fixed coverage plan, that has daily limits on each coverage and pays only a small portion of actual expenses, even for new conditions.

Thanks for your sarcasm, anands26 and the likes: see you again when fruits of IV's efforts are more visible.
While denial is beautiful, stupidity is frustating, isn't it?
I realize that there is no point in telling you guys anything. When you don't have an open mind, you can not accept the facts. It's like banging your heads against steel wall. When you are not even ready to diagnose the disease, there is little hope you will be able to cure it. Denial is a beautiful thing.
So I apologize for my comments.
Here is something you will love:
Congratulations IV and the core team! Keep up the good work.

Hey,
I have Bachelor's computer's 3 years and MCA 2 years from IGNOU. I have over 7 years of Exp excluding frm my current company. Is EB2 possible in my case. My employer says its not cause of my education, can anybody let me know if they have done EB2 with this scenario. Appreciate your time. Thanks
you have the education and experience to qualify but as others have mentioned your job should also require a EB2 level of skill...then you can apply in EB2

The first one on the list. I assumed MRN stood for Moron. (The most of the other encouraging ones were not there when I made that post). Maybe abusive was too strong a word to describe that remark.
But I appreciate your response and restoring my faith in IV !!!
Thank you Lasantha for bringing up the issue of abusive remarks. We take this matter very seriously and we do our best to disclose the information of the member who leaves abusive remark. Since you posted about abusive remark, we looked at the remarks posted for you. Here are the remarks left for you in last 1 month. We are not sure which of these remarks are abusive. Do you think the drive would have reached its original goal yesterday/early today without the January visa bulletin retrogressing us even further...?
I have my doubts about that... :)
And how far in the past would we need to retrogress to get another funding drive done...?
jazz
I dont think theres any doubt in the value iv is providing - selling it is the issue. I can be proved wrong in a month but the ongoing funding drive is kind of a ray of hope that people will be willing to give both time & money to help themselves and others.

BLITZER: We heard Josh Bolten, the White House chief of staff, Senator Specter, say one of the first priorities on the president's legislative calendar with the new Congress will be comprehensive immigration reform, including a guest worker program, and some sort of path toward citizenship for the 12 million or so illegal immigrants in this country right now. You've supported the president on this. Senator Schumer, I believe you've supported the president on this. Is this likely to be the first major piece of new legislation that both parties will work on and get through? Senator Specter, first to you.
SPECTER: Let's not wait. We're going back into session tomorrow. We've passed a comprehensive bill in the Senate. The House passed one on border control, and border control is indispensable, but it's not the end of the process.
I have a call in to Chairman Sensenbrenner. He's still the chairman. I'm still the chairman. We'll be in for at least a couple of weeks. Let's get it done now. No reason not to move ahead with guest worker. Conservative Speaker Hastert is for the it. The president is for it.
We have to deal with the 11 million undocumented immigrants. No amnesty. But we can work it out, and we ought to do it now. If we wait until next year, January will turn into February, and February will turn into March. And it will be midyear at best before anything is done.
BLITZER: All right, we unfortunately have to leave it right there. Senator Specter, thanks very much. Senator Schumer...
