There were about 600,000 AOS applications including the July and August filers. So that number less 60,000...roughly about 540,000 applications still pending with USCIS....

Filed 485 during July 07. The receipt number was WAC*******, I got receipt notice and Transfer notice saying my case was "transferred to another USCIS center where it is currently being processed" but didn't mention to which center. I assumed it was TSC as I'm from NJ.
First EAD that I renewed in 2008 had RN as SRC**** and I got the cards with from address as Texas. I had sent the application to Dallas drop box.
Second (2010) EAD had RN as WAC******* and this time I got cards with from address as California.
I had assumed that all GC processing (485, EAD, AP) were being done from either NSC or TSC, probably not.
And I only had two changes to LUD, one during first FP notice in Jan 08, and another when I used AP to come back into US in May 09. Didn't have any RFE till now. Not sure if pre-adjudication triggers any LUD. If it does it would mean the case is not adjudicated which is hard to believe with the filing being almost 3 yrs ago. Does this sound normal (having the case worked in so many centers though I am NJ resident since 2005). What are my options in regard to contacting USCIS regarding getting latest update on my case.

Folks...it looks like I have been given membership to this exclusive club, by USCIS...:)
My status on USCIS Online case tracker shows,
"Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense."
When I spoke with my attorney, he says, There are two options.
1. I can dispute and in turn get my processing delayed
2. Repay the fingerprint fees ($70) and forget about my first payment
Naturally, anyone would prefer option - 2.
Just wanted to share with you all...

For this reason IV should stop posting any strategy and plans on www that is accessible to everyone.
With due respect to your contribution to Immigration Voice, I completely disagree with you. I don't think there is anything wrong in discussing strategies on IV. Actually people will support that not discussing strategies among members have created more damage to us then discussing and let antis know about them.

JunRN,
Thanks for your reply. I agree with not moving earlier to 180 days.
What I intended to ask the previous question is:
which job type I could be able to take?
There are serveral job types:
1. Contract to Hire.
2. contract to w2
3. Fulltime
4. Contract - independant.
Thanks and regards,
Mani

At Dr.Marcel Stern, I got an appointment for June 29th. For kids, the charge is $100, for adults b/w 280-350.
They specifically mentioned that they are no longer entertaining Walk in any more. They used to till 12:00 noon today.
All doctors are swamped.
Yeah... They said after Jun 29th. Did they confirm you just verbally or you got some confirmation number?

Don't do the mistake of renewing it in India. I did that mistake and had to go through one hell of corrupt bureaucracy.
I am going to India for couple months and plans to return back on AP.I am planning to get my passport Renewal in India. Is it OK to Renew in India as it shows my India address.
Thanks In advance

Disclaimer - This is only based on my knowledge gathered from different forums so take it as its worth.
Depending on the timing of your return, you will get 2 or 3 years of RNOR (Returning non ordinary resident or something?). The RNOR status makes your overseas income non-taxable in India. So you can withdraw your 401K in those 3 years and pay less or no tax in US and no tax in India (on 401K withdraw). You will still have to pay a 10% penalty. This will ofcourse only work if you have low balance in 401K.
So for example, if you have a $30K in your 401K, you can withdraw $10K every year for 3 years, pay a $1K in penalty and avoid US taxes (due to exemption limits) as well as Indian taxes (due to RNOR status). But if you have a large 401K balance like 100K or something, there is no way to avoid taxes.
Hope this helps!
I agree with your research on India's tax Status. But I believe for US tax purpose we wont be Resident Alien unless we pass Substantial Presence test (unless we have a GC). We will be considered as Non Resident Aliens. The standard deduction for NRA's is 3k not 10K. Above 3K we need to pay 30% flat rate tax. If you have 30K and if you withdraw 10K per year then your tax will be paying 2100$ tax and 1000$ withdrawl penalty per year. In summary your tax rate could be upto 40%.
One other strategy is withdraw everything the leaving year and pay tax and put it in some investment like stocks, mutual funds or some savings. The gains wont be taxed in US if you are NRA (There are some exceptions like real estate stocks etc.). It won't be taxed in India due to RNOR status. So you can avoid taxes on the gain.
Disclaimer: Above is my interpretation from NRA tax law which could be wrong.

The cynic in me believes that everyone thinks it is just a matter of time before it becomes current or there is significant movements in dates. This is dead wrong.
Very true. I was talking with a guy last week end and he is very much elder to me. During our conversation he told me that he is waiting for his PD to become current and my minds were blown away when he said "Presidential elections are coming up and people will get GC's" . He summed it up as Politicians doing favors during election period (like in India). O M G!

Yes these emails to congressmen will never be that effective as really walking in the streets of DC. I lived in DC for more than 2 yrs.
In that 2 yrs period I saw several protests and walks. One of those are from illegal aliens. If they are doing then we MUST do this.
We need to really ROLL UP our sleeves and get into the business here before April/June (when something will happen)
Shall I book my tickets ?

Is this call GC specific questions related or can we ask OPT/H1/Cap Gap questions also?
You can ask any personal Immigration application related questions. The attorney is qualified to answer any Green card related, F1, H1, L1, Visitor visa, EAD OPT etc and even Family visa questions.

Interfiling
MurthyDotCom
The USCIS confirmed that it will continue to permit interfiling of I-485s when a person obtains two I-140 petition approvals. Interfiling is essentially the transfer of a pending I-485 application to adjust status from one I-140 petition to another filed for the same beneficiary. Examples would be when there is a successor employer, or an I-140 petition filed by a new employer or with the same employer based on a new and different job offer. This eliminates the need to re-file the I-485 in many situations, if there is a second I-140 petition to support the pending I-485.
So if your second I-140 is approved you'll be able to interfile if you want to but I do not see the problem with filing the second I-140 while one is already pending.
