Why don't we just voluntarily mention the amount that we contributed in our signatures ? Since contributions are voluntary, so should be the option of disclosing information on it. When many contributing members start furnishing their contribtion information voluntarily, it becomes the "fashion" and others will follow suit, as no one wants to look like a free-rider.
As for the veracity of the information, we got to trust each other on that and follow an audit policy- I assume the core members/ administrators have the ability to cross-check the contribution information if someone looks suspicious. Anyone caught furnishing false information can be blacklisted. Such a policy minimises the work of the core team, without being overly intrusive.

does anyone have the bill number that was passed by clinton to recapture visas from previous years. i wanted to know who the sponsors for the bill were. if its was a simple bill maybe the state chapters can talk to their congresspeople about passing something similar in the interim. it will reduce the waiting time for everybody and it is certainly non controversial...just thinking aloud.

I am in a similiar situation. My 485 was approved and my wife got her physical GC but I did not get mine. I took Infopass and the IO raised a SR. My case is from CSC to NSC. I got a response to the SR that my GC was sent and it might have got lost in mail and to file I-90. I called uscis customer rep, talked to 2nd level IO who mentioned that my card was never created and he will raise a SR mentioning the same.
Today I got 2nd FP notice mentioning that I did not give FP for the first one (I gave FP ahead of the scheduled date and verified with FBI if my prints were uploaded or not) and to appear for FP on Jan 11th, 2011. I spoke with a IO on the day this FP notice was sent and IO asked me the date I gave FP and he mumbled some numbers and checked something in the system. He said he had fixed the issue and ignore the 2nd FP. He mentioned his name to me. I should have taken his extension as well. I hope I get the card now or else I need to take Infopass. I emailed nsscfollowup with the scanned copy of the first biometrics notice which has the stamp from the ASC last week only.
I have n't contacted senators and congressmen yet and did not email the scopsscata yet

The only issue I see with using H1/H4 visa for re-entry is that if your I-485 is approved while you are outside US and you use H1/H4 for re-entry, it invalidates your GC and you have to start all over again. You either need to have your GC or an approved AP in hand when you re-enter US in this scenario...

Glad to see there is some hope in future for EB3 I.

Hi everybody,
I fail to understand how L1's are getting Green cards in 6-8 months. I have done my masters here and am waiting forever for my GC and here I met someone who has come here as a BPO devlpt manager for an Indian company and in 1 year after coming to the US gets his GC after 6 months of application. He is just a BCOM from India. On top of it he told me many of his friends in the same company and other Indian companies have got GC's in less than 6 months. I dont get it. On top of it his wife can work here on L2. How can they file under EB1 - isnt that meant for doctors and Phds? He is not even intelligent which is the saddest part. Here we are with education and exp and contributed much more to the govt here than they have and we wait for bulletins every month hoping it would move at least 15 days, getting our h1's extended everytime and dreading to go to India because of visa stamping each year. This is such a sad situation. Should not the DOL do something about this.

My understanding is that I-140 has to be approved to interfile. That's how it used to be anyway (you could not file I-485 concurrently). Anyway, interfile is not automatic so why the lawyer cannot file a second I-140 is beyond my understanding. Interfile exists so that you do not have to refile I-485, but it's up to you whether you want to do it or not.

Call all doctors in your area. When you call them, make sure they put you on their waiting list(in case somebody cancels).

Can I ask you a question? How much your corp usually pays if you are billing at $80 per hour? 55k per year or 95k per year as Salary + Benefits. (BTW - Just to make things clear, I am not looking for job as I am independent IT consultant with my own corp).
I have seen many cases where consultant is billed at 80-90 per hours and gets paid only 50 to 60k (based on his/her "negotiation" power).

Can I ask you a question? How much your corp usually pays if you are billing at $80 per hour? 55k per year or 95k per year as Salary + Benefits. (BTW - Just to make things clear, I am not looking for job as I am independent IT consultant with my own corp).
I have seen many cases where consultant is billed at 80-90 per hours and gets paid only 50 to 60k (based on his/her "negotiation" power).

My old I-140 is still active so it was safe while porting. I am not sure what happens if the old I-140 is revoked, sorry i don't have answer for this..

So in your case, did your older employer cancel or withdraw the I - 140 or it was active. Do you know if you can still port the priorty date if the I140 is withdrawn by the older employer. I have looked at most of the forums and haven't found a concrete answer to this question.
