Hi,
My passport expires in Nov, '07 and am planning to travel to India shortly. I would like to know if we are required to submit the original/copy of I-94 for passport renewal.

This is a great idea!

Not sure about the purpose of this thread but mine was applied on 29th April. Started seeing updates after 15th May. Got the approval update around 25th and cards on 7th (except that sp far all cards for me and my family used to arrive at same day this time they arrived on diffrerent days).

Initially my case status was like whatever you said..but I got the FP and done. Now the case status says bit more like
On September 18, 2007, a fingerprint fee biling notice for this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was mailed to you stating the reasons for the billing and the instructions to follow to submit the necessary payment. Therefore, processing of your case is suspended until we receive the necessary payment along with the billing notice we mailed to you. If you have not received this notice within 30 days of the September 18, 2007, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.
Does anyone know in the same boat?
My wife also in the same boat. Her FP is done and now the status is showing sameway like you.I have informed the same to my lawyer and awaiting response from them.

Some states have the provision that instate tuition rates will only apply to permanent residents while others allow H1-B's to avail of instate tuition. I know for sure that Pennsylvania is in the permanent resident camp while Colorado allows instate to H1-B's. As mentioned previously it is the state legislature along with the commision on higher education which create the rules.
It would be interesting to compile a list of all 50 states to see where each state stands. To do that though it would help if folks residing in different states chime in. Otherwise it would be too difficult to sift through the higher education commission websites for each individual state.

485 approved on Aug 20. Welcome notice said I'll get the card in 3 weeks. So far no card yet. Are there any others in this situation? People who posted earlier on this forum, please post if you guys received the cards.

Nikon put itself "On The Ropes", by not paying attention to what the market wants. Canon have consistently caught them with their pants down with the D60, 300D and the mkII. Very kind of Canon to leave Nikon anywhere near 30% of the table scraps. who says the blokes at Canon don't have a heart?

Dude thats why we started this topic. To see feasibility of living in Canada but working in US. Windsor/Detroit are the 2 cities closest to each other across US/Canada border.
If you can get job in detroit area you can do this. You wont pay any more tax than you would have made with same income in canada.

I have been there. done that. As soon as ported labor applicant using AC21 moves on & finally gets his GC, his labor cannot be ported anymore; even though you filed to use his labor before he obtained his/her GC.
Mind you, I used labor substitute not from a shady consulting company but from a reputed nasdaq listed company & had top lawyers appealing and proving my case. No use.
I think AC21 & labor substitution fundamentally had these issues where they could not co-exist. Since labor substitution was prone to abuse anyway. It was done away with. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say. Just I had to spend 3 years in limbo. What can I say - only solace is that there are others who are worse of than me.
Move on. Theres no point appealing this denial of I140.

My priority date is EB3 (August 2005). Last week her status changed to following. The thing is I checked with my lawyer & my employer and both said that they never received any RFE or never responded anything for my wife to USCIS.

I think immigration voice should ensure that concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485 is removed.

I dont think that revoking I-140 by sponsoring employer has any affect on the your process if you use AC21 after 180 days...Not sure about the before 180- days situation though !!:rolleyes:
