Please use this opportunity to contact Congressmen and White House - it's extremely easy and simple to do so! All you have to do is fill in your address and send a message which will automatically be faxed to each of the targeted Congressmen as well as the White House. I just spent the following message - feel free to use this as a template:
Subject: "What is the RoadMap for reforming Legal Immigration Process?"
Message: "I am writing today to express deep concern about the legal immigration process! Are you aware that there are over a million legal and highly skilled applicants,who have been working in this country legally and paying taxes, but are waiting in line for an Employment based Green Card, some for over 8 years? A majority of these Legal Immigrants have been impacted by horribly slow administrative processing by the Deparment of Labor between 2002-2006 which resulted in the pipeline for Legal Immigration becoming clogged at that time. Now that obstacle has been finally been cleared, the line of Legal Immigrants is coming up against annual limits to Legal Immigration (both overall and country based) followed by the USCIS. This is directly a result of the Deparment of Labor dragging its heels and holding up applications during over the years mentioned above, resulting in several hundreds of thousands of visa numbers going unused during that time. I request you to act now to relieve the pain and suffering of these Legal Immigrants by recapturing those unused Visa Numbers and allowing these Legal Immigrants to progress through the Immigration System.
This reform will strengthen the rights of all workers, value families, hold employers accountable, and move America forward. During the election, President Obama pledged to reform our nation's immigration laws in just this way. I am writing today because I want to see the plan to get this done.

The date on the website for I-140 for Nebraska is March 20, 2006. I pretty sure that right now they are process up to Mid May 2006:)

and 2 years exp. listed. Why does EB2 require 5 years?. The Job description that was included during my LC had masters plus 2 years exp DOL audits have increased for small companies for sure
It was my bad, yes you are right..(Master + 2 or Bachelor + 5), And as wandmaker suggested nowadays "coma or full stop" is also audited in strict manner.

When did you file?
Sorry to answer you question late.
I am the July 2nd filer as well. It took me quite some time to figure out the case numbers on back of the checks. All start with "WAC" means California Servcie Center. After I entered my cases number each of each (total 6 of them, 3 for my wife and 3 for me). On Sept 13. there was LUD on all of cases. but only the contents differences were appeared on two 485 cases. It said that "we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case.".
That is what I got so far. May God with us all!!!

I have 4 years degree with Masters. However, if you made through EB3 you should be able to get through EB2. Nevertheless, it is worth a try as gains are large. I understand there is a risk (no risk no gain).
I have just started the process and my labor is in process. I am filing with my current employer who filed my EB3 case. Green card is for future job so they are taking me for higher position say manger. My lawyer is making sure there is some kind of sync up with Eb3 labor and H1B application. They should be supporting the present labor application.
Your employer need to be supportive and should be willing to work with you that help a lot. They have added some managerial stuff and kind of technical lead. I have not used my experience with present employer.
To best of my knowledge, there is no impact to eb3 case.

Approvals for Mid-may have started now. They are in that region. July cases would be Nov/Dec.
I am telling because my mid-may I-140 case got approved today. I am from retrogressed country. So cannot file I-485.

Yes this a legit reason to get receipts. But if you have been denied receipts by employer/lawyer in recent past. Give this reason a little time, if you know what I mean. Else this reason would also go to waste.
My Lawyer has been good in this regard and usually scans a copy and emails to my HR/Supervisor and Myself as soon as she get any notices/rfe's etc. I think this would be the pattern of most employers if not all.
I have my canadian PR approved and have until Octber 1st to land. I hope my lawyer will get the receipt notice by then. I don't want to lose my Canadian PR and will have to travel to Canada before Oct 1st.
I'll send my employer the proof of my Canadian PR. He kinda already knows that I have Canadian PR and have to land shortly.
Hopefully they'll give it to me on that request.

please don't post information you are not sure of. unless employer withdraws H1 there is no way USCIS can know of this. (Employers are not legally bound to file for H1 withdrawal) Also I would like to know the source of your 'zero tolerance' policy in regards to H1. In fact they forgive upto 6 months of 'unauthorized' employment when processing I-485. (http://www.murthy.com/news/n_nscuna.html). If they wanted to have 'zero tolerance' they would have forced employers to withdraw H1 or atleast inform USCIS of layoff.
Also you say "one should inform USCIS before I-485 is approved'. Again this is wrong information.
Please do not start fear mongering based on incomplete information.
I hope you "heard" it from others too and i read those things from some immigration sites . Don't have exact link. And GOD save folks from USCIS when people say they have N number of days of grace period for H1B status .

My BC does not contain my mother's name. I am getting an affidavit from my parents to support my BC. Do I also need a document from Municipal Registrar similar to what is needed if Birth Certificate is missing? Thanks!
In your case, you have the birth certificate, so you don't need to submit the non-availability certificate. It is better you contact your municipal office and apply for your birth certificate with your mother's name included.

I have a total of 15+ yrs exp in the IT industry out of which 8 yrs in USA. I am also an EB3 :) BTW I have a 4 yr engg degree from a small college in india :p

I am totally pissed off with this system. The only wrong step which i took was applying in EB3 when i had three years of experience. Now i have a total almost 10 years experience in IT and still waiting like an illegal immigrant for GC.

I think we physically need to go to the adjudication center...wait at the gate do a bhuk hartaal or the sort to get our cases cleared.
I am pretty positive that SR/Infopass/Congressman/Senator are coincidences....it should not work all the time otherwise you and I would have been approved too...
I am told different things everytime I call them .....
It is hopeless since I am sure the October bulletin will put the EB-2I for November to U or early 2000s as there are hardly any visa numbers per the country cap quota...and then you need to wait till Sept 2010 for any luck.....

I did. Changed to same/similar job (exact same description). Old employer not revoking I-140. lawyer has asked me not to send AC-21 letter to USCIS, wait for the RFE, if any. so sitting tight.
