There are ofcourse lot of ways to stay afloat on your GC process. But its all risky. Even expreienced Lawyers will say its possible and might go ahead as well. But something happens latter then the lawyer is not at loss. Its you who will bear the brunt.
If you are saying that I am following the book to get my GC so be it. On my recent trip to Cleavland, Ohio I was in cab driven by a Indian and he was telling me that he made sure he always had a "American" girlfriend as in case of "troubled waters" he can play the safe and easy card by marrying the girlfriend. Smart, only if you are single :D
So the gist of my message is there are many ways to keep afloat but its better to choose the correct one and risk free one unless you are already on the loosing side and this is the best you can do and the last leaf of your luck.
Always follow the right route. But if you are in troubled waters, try provisions and workarounds make make sure u do it legally :) Play by the rules. In cases where company is laying off, bad managers, selfish employers, mergers etc... bad work, I think one must see if he has provisions and workarounds. You never marry a company for thee sake of Green Card, if you do so, then get ready for an unconditional divorce. Remember, company are commercial entities, and they dont care a shit about u or ur family or green card, they care about themselves, I have seen so many people being artificially loyal to their companies so that they would not face layoffs or issues. As such nothing is straight forward. No system is 100% perfect and though the American system may not be 100% perfect system, this is the only system that can be the best in the world. There is provision for almost anything. One may not feel right about certain things but at the end of the day everyone gets what they deserve. Try to be a "survivor" :)

That is true. But I would rather bicker/argue among ourselves in our closed community and not in front of the public. I withdrew my post because singhsa3 is inviting media and other outlets to view this poll. I see no good coming out of washing our dirty linen in public.
I am neither convinced by singhsa3's arguments and nor do I buy into the whole "potential-to-buy-houses" angle (and I got red-dotted for all my previous posts, but I don't care), but if he's willing to take the efforts because he believes in what he's doing, then I don't have to be the all-freedom-of-speech guy.
So long as singhsa3's not pledging that I and my wife will buy our house #2 and house #3 only because USCIS gives us green cards, I am fine with continuing with my life and work. :)

If you remember that I had pledged $1000 in last 20$ campaign and you guys could only shell out $500 out of me...which means that I still have a block of $500 which was not spent for IV in the past. Here is my next pledge :

This is just to verify if the guys is in database for any criminal activity. ofcourse they will not give an illegal guy a GC if they have his record in database for criminal activity in US. This is just a formal requirement to keep illegal law brokers out because there are thousands illegals who came here from southern border and have committed crimes. There are some even in the America's Top 10 Wanted list. My uncles(came illegally here) went through all criminal checks by FBI for breaking any law,when Reagan gave amnesty for >5 years. Same criminal checks were done on illegals when Clinton helped legalalization of illegals. Fingerprints, etc are just for other criminal history check not to check if the person crossed the border illegally, ofcouse he did and broke the law: that's the whole point for him being illegal.

If 5 year rule is not for illegals, then what do you think is there in this bill for 11 million illegals. Itn't that logical. Infact main purpose of this bill is to fix illegal immigrants not legals. We, are slightly better, we have paper work and still suffer at the hands of our employers, so we know their plight...So, I would say illegals also have to be considered. I DO NOT SUPPORT ILLEGALS. But they are human beings too and are living in the dark.....
My take on ilegals is:
1. Build a huge prison and put all of them in there and feed them rest of their life.
OR
2. Arrest all of them and deport them their home country
IF 1 or 2 is not possible, better give them green card as long as they have not committed any crime and legalize them so no one takes advantage of them...we have had one round of slavery in this country and its consequence is still felt, lets not have another round of slavery with illegals.

Nothing is right or wrong, as meaning of quality of life is a very subjective thing.
In Japan, people work hard, send money/products to the US, and be happy for better quality of life by looking at increasing balances in their bank books each morning, and don't care what homes/cars they have.
In the US, people get happy for better quality of life by looking at their new BMW's, and nicely furnished homes (bought by money borrowed from Japanese investors), and don't care what they owe.
Both are unhappy too, for not having enough what they want more, Japanese want to have bigger balances in their bank books, and American want bigger BMW's and homes.
"Peace of Mind - Do you have" referenced in posts above is just a price for the quaility of life they "enjoy". No enjoyment comes without a price.
My issue is not with the quality of life. Don't we need to consider the risks associated with the quality of life? I see that there is a sense of entitlement that you should live your american dream or whatever at whatever cost.

Even I have decided to return once done with my studies. Guess serving the motherland has been more important to us than earning the $$, since we know that only with efforts of an individual a country can progress.

HUGE CHANGE, thanks to a bad immigration system.

(6) The current USCIS policy and procedure also require that I-485 applications be adjudicated and approved "only after" the completion of clearance of the security checks.

o Answer I: Obviously it would violate the rules and the laws.
o Answer II: It will constitue a serious security lapse, compromising the homeland security.

I completely agree with you.. in the last 3-4 years of forming IV what lobbying efforts did the IV folk do after July 2007 fiasco?? With all the donations and money they are making from advertisements on this website what have they accomplished? they could not even have an established and reliable relationship with DOS or USCIS to get clear information out to its members?? I think it is a BIG F-A-I-L-U-R-E on the part of IV if they cannot even get some valid information let alone bringing some change in the immigration system. And when we are all discussing in anticipation of this much awaited April bulletin, what do the IV admin folk do?? Start another DONOR FORUM thread and talk about what?? B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T!! If you see the letter and spirit of clause in the said notification, an employment letter is not required and adjudicator has to send RFE if he feels required. File with latest paystubs. If RFE sent to you , then again file latest paystub to show that you was in employment with that employer from the date of filing 485 petition and for at least another 6-7 months further to that date.
Please don't spread incorrect statements. An employment letter is part of initial evidence and one of the most important things in the whole employment=based cases. Paystubs only show that you work, but they don't show what you do. I485 can't be approved without CURRENT employment verification letter. That is a fact, and not rumor. If you don't believe, review I485 instructions which say that employment letter must be there as initial evidence.
Please don't spread incorrect statements. An employment letter is part of initial evidence and one of the most important things in the whole employment=based cases. Paystubs only show that you work, but they don't show what you do. I485 can't be approved without CURRENT employment verification letter. so what you are basically asking is give gc to everybody who wants. country quota is meaningless (we know that!). qualifications are worthless. nobel prize or manual laborer (all are humans!). illegals also should be given gc without any reservations!
so when we start a campaign try to be reasonable. don't just 'focus' on our 'wishes'. think creatively how to solve the problem we are all facing, by understanding the basics of the whole process.
