I would understand if walking_dude was asking me to fly to Michigan and stand with a placard in front of the radio station (which I MIGHT do btw), but sending an email is a five-minute effort, which everyone can do sitting at their home/office/library.

Eb2 will be always better positoned as the spill over from Eb1 and other countries happen towards the end of the year. If there is some spillover for Eb3 then waiting time will decrease based on the numbers given.

The response is expected. Unless IV core members support nothing will move. Many similar threads came and go in past. IV is giving critical updates only to Donor members. So only donor members will know what is happening. Others will not know anything and will not have any direction. That may be one of the reason for poor response for these kinds of polls. If majority of the members are donors then that will be effective.
I request you not to deviate from the topic. Lets hope IV core come up and support in this struggle.

Your auto insurance company are the best people to talk to right now initially. They can provide excellent legal advice for which you have paid in your premiums.
The amount is extortionate and as long as you do not ignore this it can be resolved I am sure. In all honesty it sounds as if they thought hey we only have two years to sue so lets do it now so it does not look as if we waited till the last minute. Otherwise why would they wait so long to file the claim. Herniated discs do not appear at a later date they are a thing of the present, i.e. at the time of impact.
With regard to your green card I cannot imagine it will have any impact at all. You have not committed any crime, you had an auto accident. These happen every day to thousands of green card holders and applicants and if they resulted in deportations the immigrant community would probably be aware of them.

Hi everyone,
I just called everyone on the list.
The one thing I felt once my part was done was my sense of accomplishment - I helped - in the smallest way possible. Trust me - while I consider myself blessed when I read some of our members' story - I still feel like my battle to reaching this point is very poignant.
Call - feel good on a Monday (which usually is SUCH the worst day ever of the week for me:).

3) Fewer percentage of H1-B s have overstayed their visas than the percentage of senators who have been guilty of taking bribes, or the percentage of journalists who have misrepresented facts!
4) Medical doctors, Researchers, Engineers, Bio-technologists, CEOs, CFOs you name it, a lot of them are H1-B visa holders. They are in demand in all industries. First of all note that the original post was alomst year and a half old so dont go by the ideas there now :D
In commodity markets you trade futures and spot. Spot means immidate delivery of the under lying commodity. In futures you pay today for delivery at a future date. So typically the price of the future will be the price of spot + the storage charge (simple calculation to give you an idea considering no premiums). As the day of delivery approaches the price will pull to spot price. For example if west texas intermediate (WTI) crude is $92 spot price the 3 month future will be $100. (92+8 for storage). Considering that the spot price does not change at all, in three months time the price of the oil you will now be purchasing will be $92, but you paid $100 for it. This is backwardation. This is usually how markets are most of the time.
Now if in 3 months the price of WTI is trading at $110, you will own oil you paid $100 for and now can turn around and sell for $110. This is contango.
When you buy a commodity ETF, they dont take actual delivery of the product, they roll their contarcts. So they will hold a 3 month contarct and when the third month approaches they sell the contarct and get another 3 month contaract. If market is in backwardation then they will always be buying high and selling low. If market is in contango they will make money but as soon as it switches back to backwardation they will ride down the slide and loose all the money they made. So I dont think ETF's are agood way of making money in commodities passively. You can actively manage the ETF portfolio and make money using options and hedges and leveraged ETF's. But buy and hold, I suggest go and invest with a CTA who will be trading rule based to negate the effects of contango and backwardation.

India had just lost the Finals of a well fought [field] hockey match to Pakistan. We were all very disappointed by the loss, but it saddened me further to see a victory procession with waving Pakistani flags in the Muslim parts of the City.
Ofcourse, India is a secular country and more so the United States.. and you can cheer whoever you please..
But, If you chose to become a US Citizen, and US were in a battle with your country of Origin (let's narrow it down to Sports, to keep it less complicated), which country would you side? If I chose to side with my country of origin, it would make me a hypocrite, wouldn't it ?

Anytime such discussions come up, invariably a few people jump on board threatening to quit IV. Who are you threatening? Are you helping yourself by quitting the fight to solve your problem?
First of all, I am not threatening to quit IV.
Secondly, even if I quit, its not going to matter to IV.
IV's goal is to fight retrogression. So whoever wants to fight retrogression should stay on board.
Thats why I am here. However, everytime someone talks about giving visa numbers from EB3-ROW to EB-2 India/China as the ONLY freaking thing in the world to do, I have to point it out to them that they are talking taking those visa numbers away from ROW-EB3. And that my friend, is not in the interest of ROW-EB3. Nor does it benefit India-EB3, or China EB-3.
However, it is the privilege of a few affected people to discuss their problems on these threads. You are not obligated to follow these discussions if they are not to your taste. It is a legitimate question.
I also enjoy that very same privilege. We are not here for things that we appeal to our 'taste'. This is not a forum discussing 'Borat'. We are here to talk about our interests as they relate to greencard and retrogression.
