namm80,
Just curious, when were your applications originally sent. Also are you EB3 or EB2 and country????
I am in similar situation. Originally applied to NSC, got Xfr'd to CSC. Now CSC after processing EAD/AP Xfr'd my I-485 back to NSC.
ANyone in similar situation has rcvd Finger printing notices? I assume Aug 17th filers at NSC are ahead of us?
Also, i received the EADs in mail, but haven't received the AP even though online status reads AP mailed a week back. Any idea how long it takes to get AP after it online status reads approved?
Please share any information.

I don't know if it is really easy to renew in US.Because i just filled the form with this link https://passport.gov.in/nri/OnlineRegistration.jsp?pocode=USAW and saved the application.I thought It'll save my details , but It looks like it sent the application to embassy. When I wanted to reprint the form it's asking the Web File No which I never received.May be I need to call them for this #.I tried to fill the form and save again. It's coming up with blank page without any Web File No.

I just don't understand one basic question.
Congress is trying to pardon 12 million illegals as a one time measure and give them Green Cards. (OK - Very good)
On the other hand we are about half a million who entered the country legally and helping the U.S. economy and paying taxes. Why don't they consider giving all of us Green Cards as a one time measure too ?????

If you guys don't mind I am opening this thread.
I am just trying to find out the average Lawyer Fee and Cost of GC (including Labor, I-140, 485, AP, EAD etc)
So far I have paid 8K to Lawyer and USCIS.

My point is not TSC or NSC - my point is we all sufferers should now unite and create pressure. I cant do alone , you cant do alone.
How do you want to contact AILA - why they should suddenly listen to a bunch of 10 stray immigrants like you , me ??
One thing i dont follow in your post how EB3 becoming U affect Processing times of I-140 ? I-140 doesn't depend on "Country of Origin" or "Retrogression".
Let me know !
There's a EB3 140 approval drought in not just NSC, but TSC too. I think it's going to get worse with EB3 becoming U. I am myself EB3 Mar 2005 and my job isn't looking very stable after my company resorted to outsourcing.
Can we suggest to AILA reinstatement of premium processing for those who've waited beyond some acceptable period of time? The same way they are doing for people whose H1's are at the brink of expiration.
I don't see any other way they will ever give heed to this problem i.e. where no monetary gains are involved.

stucklabor,
Thanks for your post. It's good to hear the perspective of a core member of IV like yourself. I understand your point of view but respectfully disagree with your definition of the greatest good. The greatest good will not be achieved by just passing the labor cert. stage. The greatest good is achieved once we have the GC card. Your effort on retrogression to benefit 250k & 200k is plausible. But you help them to pass one bridge, to just get stuck on the next. If there are 25k people stuck in name check at this time, imagine what will happen when the estimated 200k-250k reach that stage.
If the 25k spent in average 3 years in the name check, what will be the wait time for that massive population that are headed that way after retrog & labor cert? The EB process is a big picture and the greatest number will not get the greatest good until all these obstacle are resolved all the way to the end.
sroym, i think the point stucklabor was trying to make is, that currently most of the people are stuck in retrogression and labour which makes things far more unbearable than actually having an EAD/AP and such benefits. There is a whole thread on this discussion where members of all nationalities have complained about IV not taking the FBI name check issue seriously. I think the moot point that IV core members are focussing on is, the fact that retrogression is making life unbearable for just about everyone. Plus given the following facts:
1) A Serious Majority of the IV members are affected more by retrogression+labor as compared to FBI name checks. and
2) IV core members have full time jobs and spouses and are working pro-bono for the good of everyone and money collected is also coming in slowly and thorugh the IV members themselves.
These 2 facts mean that both time and money is at a premium and they have to spend it solving the problem they originally started to solve. Believe me, some of the core members themselves are stuck with the FBI name check issue for the past 2 years or so.
Given all these facts, you have to understand where IV and it's mission/policy stands. To my understanding the policy is "One step at a time".

Yes I wont be surprised if they come up after 2 years saying "all applicants who already have approved i-140(and retrogressed) should refile to verification and should be filed in "Premium Processing Only"......Hmm thats a juicy amount for the administration.

Important Note - I think the fine print of this bill was discussed a few days/weeks ago and the visas will actually be going to recent grads (within the past 5 years). It will in now way help the EB2's and EB3's who are waiting in line forever.
I think this is the right time to work on modifying the text of this bill. If not these GC's will be given away to people who haven't even applied yet !
No my friend, check my previous post, that was directly taken from the bill summary, the numbers will roll down for present EB community.

I also filed on July 20 at NSC. No checks cashed and no receipts, of course.
When I called the customer service #, they said it could take up to 3 months.
Any explanation for what is going on?
Don't know what'z going on...
Looks like NSC is processing August 1st week. TSC is processing July 26th and 27th cases and CSC is processing July 23rd and 24th.
Only God has help us.
Thanks,
-rk.

I-94 on current I797 expires 4/30/2007
Am expecting H1B approval 4/30/2007-4/30/2010 soon.
Plan to travel in February 2007.
One thing I noticed is my previous visa stamps only had a end date but no start date. So I am guessing/hoping the start date is effectively dictated by I797 (which I will have 2 of).

To be frank, I was not aware of this loophole used by L1s so it came as a shock to me when I came to know of it. Anyways complaining will not take us far, action will. I will call my lawmakers. Does anyone have a list of lawmakers based on state or city.
Thank you ss_col.
This thread has lots of information about calling lawmakers:

Laws are not straightforward. They are bent, mended, amended etc... based on needs.
Current need is a Mexican population vote bank and American vote bank
Amnesty to Illegals - Mexican and latino immigrants love it - vote bank
Punishing h1b - Americans love it, Indians and other immigrants who already got GCs and citizenships love it as it reduces competition and kills it, so they love it - vote bank
Doing something for h1b - Latinos wont care, Americans wont like it, Industry will lose control over h1b if h1bs start getting GCs - no vote
Increasing h1b and allowing employers to show GC carrot - employers loveeee it
Punishing h1b severly - disaster for economy - so some relaxations will be made.
Overall - our lives will improve bit by bit due to efforts of organizations like IV etc...

Have you already emailed the addresses you mentioned in your post? I mailed some newspaper reporters in PA this afternoon. Quoted the AILA.
I emailed most of the email ids on the list. Except for some entertainment show emails which are included in the list. I'm looking forward to NBC, because MSNBC ran some message boards for EB immigrants during the immigration bill debacle.
